West Africa Quality Education Award

The West African Quality Education Award will honour schools, institutions, and organizations that have contributed through Quality Educations in raising the standard of education in and academic performance in West Africa Sub-region. The Award is aimed at identify, recognizing and rewarding schools, institutions and support organizations that adhere strictly to Quality Education Principles and Teaching Best Practices.

A good Quality Education is one that provides all learners with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihood, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies and enhance individual well-being. The learning outcomes that are required vary according to context but at the end of basic education cycle must include threshold levels of literacy and numeracy, basic scientific knowledge and life skills including awareness and prevention of diseases.

Capacity development to improve the quality of teachers and other education stakeholders is crucial throughout this process.

The Award is initiated by Word Quality Alliance in Partnership with Institute for Quality Education with the support of African Quality Institute and Pan Africa Organization. It will also be published in major Pan African Magazines such as African Investor, African Report and African Business as well as Major Electronic Media that has international coverage.

A special Quality Journal called Quality Standards Journal featuring the Award recipient will be Published and delivered to the winners on the Award day. While this current award will be held in Nigeria, subsequent ones could be held in any other West Africa countries such as Ghana, Serria Leone and Gambia.
